New Delhi: Terra Charge, a Charging Point Operator (CPO), and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), a joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and the Govt of NCT of Delhi, have announced a collaboration to advance the electric mobility drive in Delhi.

Under this partnership, Terra Charge together with BYPL will build a network of public EV charging hubs across Delhi by installing and maintaining EV chargers on sites designated by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Through this collaboration, Terra Charge aims to deliver safe and reliable EV charging solutions to support the USD 913 Million Indian EV charging infrastructure market and help BYPL advance clean transportation solutions.

By providing convenient charging solutions, this collaboration may support the Delhi government’s vision to install EV charging stations every 5 km along Outer Ring Road, enabling India to become a global EV leader by 2030.

Under this collaboration, advanced EV charging solutions will be deployed in BYPL service areas where EV penetration is high, but a lack of advanced EV charging infrastructure is hampering adoption. The Japanese CPO will leverage advanced technology and install a range of slow AC and fast DC charging options to cater to customers’ diverse needs. The company, which adheres to industry regulations and quality standards, will also provide round-the-clock monitoring and support for its EV charging network. It will also conduct multiple training and awareness programs in association with BYPL to promote the use of EVs in the community.

Akhiro Ueda, CEO of Terra Charge, said, “Our partnership with BYPL aligns with our global sustainability goals and embodies our ultimate ‘mission to zero’ vision, which we aim to achieve by promoting sustainable mobility powered by clean energy. We believe the installation of our Japanese technology-backed chargers will accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India, helping the public decrease their carbon footprint and contribute to a greener environment.”

Terra Charge has installed over 300 chargers in India and has collaborated with multiple all-electric passenger cab services to accelerate India’s EV30@30 campaign. The Japanese CPO aims to foster a long-term partnership with BYPL to support the EV charging infrastructure in India. The company is currently focused on establishing charging hubs in commercial and residential areas and is exploring partnerships to create a vast network of EV charging ecosystems.
