The upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift has been renamed XUV3XO. It will get multiple powertrain options and the XUV3XO EV will join the line-up later.
Mahindra has confirmed that the heavily refreshed compact SUV will debut globally on April 29, 2024. Mahindra aims to increase its presence in the compact SUV segment, as two of the XUV300’s competitors, the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet, have recently been refreshed. The XUV3XO has been spotted testing many times.
Mahindra XUV3XO to get BE SUV inspired looks
The XUV300’s front and rear get a major design refresh that’s heavily inspired by Mahindra’s BE line-up of SUVs. The updates include a more angular nose, a new drop-down look for the LED daytime running lamps, and a revised front bumper and headlamp assembly. It also gets a new two-part grille with a larger central air intake on the bumper.
The XUV3XO’s rear gets a completely redesigned tailgate with a full-width LED light bar; a smoother tailgate; sleeker and C-shaped tail-lamps; and the registration plate is now housed on the bumper instead of on the tailgate. It also gets a new set of alloy wheels finished in dark chrome.
Mahindra XUV3XO: powertrain highlights
The current crop of engines – a 1.5-litre diesel, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol (TGDi) – will continue as is. However, the 1.2-litre TGDi petrol will get an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox. The XUV3XO line-up, as we’ve reported earlier, will also get an EV powertrain later this year.
Mahindra XUV3XO: launch timeline
While the XUV3XO will debut globally on April 29, it remains to be seen whether Mahindra will also announce prices for the Brezza rival on the same day.
