The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has extended the deadline to April 27, for submitting R&D proposals, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, ANI reported.
The R&D Scheme aims to make the production, transportation, utilisation and storage of green hydrogen more affordable. At the same time, it also aims to improve the reliability, efficiency and safety of the relevant processes and technologies in the green hydrogen value chain, ANI noted.
As per the Scheme guidelines issued on March 15, 2024, the R&D scheme will be implemented with a total budgetary outlay of Rs 400 crore till FY 25-26.
After the issue of guidelines, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy issued a Call for Proposals, on March 16, 2024.
The support under the R&D program includes all components of the Green Hydrogen value chain- production, storage, compression, transportation and utilisation.
The National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched on 4 January 2023, with an outlay of Rs 19,744 crore, up to FY 29-30.
Under the mission, the government aims to raise annual green hydrogen production to 5 million tonnes, renewable energy capacity addition of 125 gigawatts, and attract more than 8 lakh crore in investments, among other things.
