Tesla reduces FSD price on subscription

Tesla has halved the monthly subscription price for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) driver assistance software from $199 to $99.

The price reduction allows Tesla drivers in the USA to… FSD option to rent via the app of your electric car, with the option to cancel and restart the subscription on a monthly basis. The company also made a name change for the system to emphasize the driver’s role as an attentive supervisor. And so the system is now called “Supervised”

The introduction of FSD subscriptions followed the standardization of the Autopilot system on all new Tesla purchases, resulting in a cheaper price for existing owners. Despite mixed reviews from Tesla drivers who have varying opinions on FSD’s capabilities and safety concerns related to accidents and recalls Tesla on an increase in sales through software services in view of declining vehicle deliveries.

Elon Musk denied reports about discontinuing a low-cost electric vehicle and instead announced the launch of a robotaxis, expected to be based on FSD technology.
