Honda Motor Europe (HME) has confirmed a series of changes to the senior management of its European business.
Hans De Jaeger is appointed as Senior Vice President, responsible for the Automobile, Motorcycle, Power Product, Marine and Customer Service divisions. Hans has over 30 years’ experience with the brand, having started his career in the logistics division, before progressing through a series of roles. His first executive appointment was as Vice President responsible for Energy Services and Business Transformation Office. He replaces Tom Gardner who, after 30 years with the business, took the decision to retire at the end of March.
Regarding his appointment, Hans commented, “I am excited to be moving into a role where I will be responsible for our core European business divisions. These are the engines that will power our future growth in the region and allow us to provide outstanding products and services to our European customers. My vision is to further strengthen our business constitution as we take on the challenges of electrification and ensure we offer a range of products and services that places us at the top of our customers’ list.”
Hans will be replaced as Vice President for Energy Services and Business Transformation Office by Jean-Marc Streng. Jean-Marc has a wide business experience, starting his career at PwC in 1991, before various roles at Volkswagen Group (France). He joined Honda in 2007, and since then has taken on positions as President & Managing Director, Honda Motor Europe UK, before his last appointment as General Manager, Business Transformation Office.
Speaking about his appointment, Jean-Marc said, “I am delighted to be taking on this Vice President position, with responsibility for the development of these new and emerging areas in our business. The Energy Services division has the most sophisticated offering available to EV customers who want to minimise their costs whilst maximising use of renewable energy. I will also seek to build on my previous work in the Business Transformation Office to further strengthen Honda’s innovation culture and establish a successful future for Honda in our region.”
All new positions took effect on April 1 2024.
