New Delhi: The National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX), under the National Automotive Board (NAB), Union Ministry of Heavy Industries, is organizing a Conference on “Global Presence of Indian Test Agencies – Way Forward” in New Delhi on Saturday, 27th April 27, 2024.
The Indian automotive industry has continuously grown since many decades and its accelerated growth in recent times is setting new benchmarks globally – the recent achievement of getting positioned as the third largest Automotive market in the world is a prized accomplishment.
With the presence of an impressive array of local and global Automotive and Technology players, startups, talent demographics, and supportive Government Policies, Indian automotive industry is well set to usher in a new era, which perhaps may get judged as Indian Automotive Renaissance period.
In the past two decades, significant game changing work has also happened from the Ministry of Heavy Industries in setting up of new greenfield Test Agencies (under NAB) and upgradation of existing test agencies. While Indian Test Agencies have evolved significantly in the last decade or two, but looking at Global Aspirations of all stakeholders and ever-changing technology landscape, it is important to discuss path forward for Indian Test Agencies to take a forward leap in emerging as Global Players for R&D, Testing and Co-Development.
Manish Jaiswal, Director NATRAX, said, “The technology Landscape is evolving very fast, especially with the advent of SW enabled vehicles, and various technology mega trends. For India to go at par with the world in the new era of automotive technology, it is of paramount importance that new collaborative models are set across industry, which enables localization of R&D, testing and technology incubation. All this requires a new type of Top driven collaborative mindset.”
The first of its kind Automotive Leadership Conference, in association with SIAM, ACMA and ATMA, intends to bring all high-level stakeholders on a single platform to discuss and deliberate on the way forward to break silos and create path forward to build and enable ecosystem in Test Agencies through intense collaboration among Industries, Government Bodies, Technology Players, and Academia.
Sudhir Gupte, Principal Engineer – NATRAX, said that to meet such a high-level objective, the presence of all stakeholders, including Auto OEM’s, Auto component Manufacturers, Tyre Manufacturers, SW Technology companies and Academia, along with Govt. officials, is imperative and he requested everyone to come forward to join the Conference.
