Italy’s Texa, which is a key player in the areas of design, industrialisation, and production of diagnostic tools, vehicle tele-diagnostic devices, and exhaust gas analysers for cars, two-wheelers, trucks, and agricultural vehicles, has introduced its latest diagnostic tool – Texa TXT Bharat – in the Indian market.
The multi-brand vehicle diagnostic tool along with its software interface IDC5 Bharat, is priced at around Rs 195,000 in India’s aftermarket, and will cater to the commercial vehicle segment in the country. The product is being introduced in association with Bengaluru-based Madhus Garage Equipment, one of India’s leading retailers of vehicle servicing solutions.
As per Texa, the TXT Bharat has been developed with intensive R&D and leveraging the company’s rich knowledge and expertise of over three decades of serving the automotive industry. The combined solution – TXT Bharat coupled with IDC5 Bharat will allow mechanics to perform maintenance activities on a wide array of commercial vehicles, conforming to BS-III, BS-IV, and BS-VI emission standards, currently present on Indian roads.
The next-generation vehicle interface, rich in unique technical and constructive features, had been developed specifically for trucks, buses, light commercial vehicles, and off-highway vehicles. The company claims its processor makes it faster and more powerful, ensuring precise data processing from the vehicle’s control units. The diagnostic tool also features the latest Bluetooth technology and a USB-C port for establishing faster connection and optimised data download, along with better usability owing to the new RGB LEDs.
The hardware features of TXT Bharat claim to make it compatible with all current protocols, with the integrated 16-pin CPC connector allowing for quick connection to the 16-pin OBD socket and the use of all diagnostic cables specific for the off-highway environment. It also allows diagnosis on vehicles at 12V or 24V and records the diagnostic session during driving.
The IDC5 Bharat, which is the brain of TXT Bharat hardware, is a software that guides the repair technician through all phases of work, from error detection to resolution, in a practical, and safe manner. The company says the software is updated monthly to continuously improve its diagnostic coverage with new technical information and electrical diagrams of brands and models to help repair professionals in resolving typical issues of their daily activities.
The software interface also provides a range of exclusive functions and technical documentation that go beyond the traditional concept of diagnosis, including dashboards, interactive electrical diagrams, guided diagnosis, technical bulletins, mechanical data, and error help.
According to David Meneghetti, Product Manager, Texa, “A long period of study and field testing in India have allowed us to propose a solution that perfectly suits the needs of mechanics, local fleets, and the growing multi-brand culture. Being able to repair vehicles with the latest generation technologies is the emerging trend, and we are confident in providing concrete answers with a product tailored to this need.”
“Madhus is excited to enter this new vertical, especially with our long-term partner, Texa, which has invested a lot of time, effort and money to develop this product. They have not just taken an existing product to sell in India, but have adopted a clean sheet approach to ensure that their tool works well with the Indian vehicles. They have also ensured that the pricing of the tool is in line with Indian expectations,” added Nikhil B, Deputy Managing Director, Madhus Garage Equipment.
