Volkswagen details U.S. trims of 2025 ID.Buzz

Volkswagen of America has announced the U.S. offer structure for the 2025 ID. Buzz, the electric version of its Microbus van.

In the country, the ID. Buzz will be offered in three trims: Pro S, Pro S Plus, and a launch-only 1st Edition. The trims will share a 91 kWh battery, while the RWD models will offer up to 282 hp (210 kW) and 4Motion AWD models up to 335 hp (249 kw). Volkswagen confirmed that the range and pricing of the new ID.Buzz range will be announced closer to launch.

Inside all three trims, is a broad range of standard technology, including a 12.9-inch infotainment display, 5.3-inch ID. Cockpit digital instrument cluster, the ID. Light driver support system, wireless phone charging and a wireless App-Connect system. IQ.DRIVE, Volkswagen’s suite of ADAS, is offered as standard and features hands-on semi-automated driving capabilities, including driver-initiated lane changes that see the vehicle complete a lane change maneuver with Travel Assist activated. In addition, all ID. Buzz models feature Park Assist Plus with Memory Parking.

Pro S models will be available exclusively in RWD, and provide a bench seat that can accommodate up to seven passengers. The Pro S Plus and 1st Edition models offer both rear-wheel- and 4Motion all-wheel-drive configurations. In the Pro S Plus RWD models, bench seating is standard, with an available captain’s chair package with seating for six, while rear-wheel-drive 1st Edition models will only offer a rear bench. On both Pro S Plus and 1st Edition 4Motion models, captain’s chairs come standard.

Pro S Plus models are equipped with a variety of standard premium content, including a HUD that projects key information in front of the driver, and Area View – which uses the car’s cameras to supplement the driver’s view of what is around the vehicle. Accompanying these technologies is a 700-watt, nine-speaker, harman/kardon sound system, while an available Flexboard with two fabric storage bins creates a flat floor when the seats are folded. A manually-retractable tow hitch is hidden behind the rear bumper when retracted, with Volkswagen set to share tow ratings and full specifications closer to launch. The wide-open greenhouse can be further enhanced by an available electrochromic panoramic glass roof, which can be changed from transparent to opaque.

The launch-only 1st Edition is based on the Pro S trim and is available only with a two-tone exterior, while adding unique 20-inch wheels, roof rail cross bars, and exterior 1st Edition badging. Inside, all 1st Edition models are equipped with a coastal-inspired interior, heritage-inspired floor mats, and exclusive 1st Edition owner’s gifts. The launch edition ID.Buzz also adds the electrochromic panoramic glass roof, Area View, the harman/kardon sound system, Flexboard, and easy/open sliding doors & tailgate.
