Great Wall Motors has rolled out the latest software update for its ORA 03 EV in the UK, which enables wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Available to all current and future customers free of charge, the update will be administered through the brand’s existing dealership network, which today consists of more than 30 sites spread across the UK.
When starting a journey in the ORA 03 for the first time, a message on the EV’s 10.25-inch infotainment screen will encourage users to connect and activate Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in the EV. Upon connecting either system to the car, customers can experience their benefits including traffic optimized navigation, music, access to calls and messages, voice assistance, third party apps, and more.
GWM ORA has designed and tested to ensure it works seamlessly across ORA 03’s two 10.25-inch split screens, with navigation extending from the driver display through to the main infotainment screen. While having CarPlay enabled, customers will still be able to access GWM ORA’s own connectivity features such as the ‘Hello ORA’ voice assistant, which can perform commands for vehicle functions like climate control, window operation, ChargePoint location, radio and more.
Following this update, GWM ORA is also planning to introduce over-the-air updates (OTA) that will offer customers even greater flexibility when installing new versions of software in the future.
