Vedanta Aluminium announced on Monday that its CEO John Slaven has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). In his new position, Slaven will spearhead global initiatives aimed at highlighting the crucial role of aluminium in facilitating the transition to zero carbon energy.
“Aluminium has already proven itself essential in the global transition to a net zero future… The IAI has undertaken stellar efforts in this regard, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members and colleagues to reinforce aluminium as the definitive metal of the future,” Slaven said.
IAI is an organization that represents the primary aluminum industry globally. It is responsible for increasing awareness of the industry’s operations, promoting responsible production, and highlighting the significant advantages of using aluminum in developing more environmentally friendly technologies.
The current membership of IAI includes the world’s leading bauxite, alumina, and aluminium companies.
Slaven has more than thirty years of experience in the metals, mining, and modern manufacturing sectors.
