NDR Auto Components to expand operations near Maruti, Kia plants after hitting capacity

NDR Auto aims to expand operations as it nears capacity at its existing plants. The supplier of seat frames and trims to major automakers including Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, and Kia, disclosed during a recent investor call that it has acquired land in Kharkhoda, near the upcoming Maruti Suzuki plant. NDR is also exploring land acquisition possibilities in Anantapur, close to Kia’s manufacturing facility.

Pranav Relan, Whole-time director of the company, said, ” Utilisations at our facilities across Haryana, Bangalore and Gujarat stood at 80%, offering us an ample runway from having sales with rising capacities. So once we run out of capacity, then we will look to expand”. The company currently has an order book of around Rs 250–300 crore, which is likely to get executed in one and a half to two years.

NDR Auto Components got empanelled as a tier 2 supplier to  Hyundai TRANSYS to supply seat-trims to Kia, which will commence from January 2025.

The seating trims will be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, which is close to Kia’s manufacturing operations.

Also, in February 2024, NDR Auto Component  entered into a technical assistance agreement with Hayashi Telempu for the supply of sun shade to Maruti and Toyota automobiles. Hayashi Telempu is more than a 100-year-old  Japanese company with revenues of 1.9 billion, specialising in producing automotive interior, exterior and after-market parts.

Relan highlighted that the volumes growth witnessed an upward revision during the current fiscals for SUVs. In addition, the Kia business is starting in January 2025, and the sub shade business in February 2025. “So I think we should be at a low double-digit number this year”.
