Ignition AI Accelerator launches in Singapore
Ecosystem builder Tribe and Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) have collaborated with Nvidia to launch Ignition AI Accelerator, a new AI startup accelerator based in the city-state.
Ignition AI Accelerator, which is supported by the Singapore government, focuses on enhancing AI value discovery, a first in Southeast Asia. It has launched with an initial combined investment of $3 million, according to an announcement.
The accelerator will start with an initial cohort of 15 high-potential startups that will undergo a curated four-month programme designed to prepare them with the foundational capabilities required to ensure their AI projects are launch-ready.
Tribe and NVIDIA will collaborate with Enterprise Singapore to offer qualified AI startups funding support through the Startup SG Tech scheme, per the announcement.
“This accelerator program will target the most forward-looking AI startups to create and bring to market the next wave of advancement in AI solutions/applications,” said Tribe CEO Ng Yiming.
PH telecom giant Globe creates AI group
Philippine telecom giant and digital solutions platform Globe has announced the creation of a new AI group that will lead the company’s adoption of artificial intelligence.
The creation of AI Development and Enablement Group (AIDE) marks the company’s stride towards leveraging AI to enhance business operations, service delivery, and customer experience, according to the announcement.
AIDE, which will formally start as a group on June 1, 2024, will spearhead Globe’s AI initiatives, focusing on strategic AI planning, development, business integration, and governance.
The new AI group will be led by Anton Bonifacio, its first chief AI officer. Bonifacio, concurrently Globe’s chief information security officer, is behind some of Globe’s innovations in data protection and cyber defence.
