Tesla’s cars are anything but fully autonomous. The term FSD – Full Self-Driving – is being criticized even more, especially in California.
A complaint against Tesla because of misleading names like “Full Self-Driving” and “Autopilot” was approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Tesla already has the term in Germany Autopilot lost.
Tesla defended the terms as free speech, but a judge ruled that the complaint could proceed. This comes while Tesla is under federal investigation over its FSD technology. Although Tesla admits that FSD does not allow for complete autonomy, CEO Elon Musk predicts that it will eventually drive completely autonomously.
He touted the latest FSD version and suggested it could be even more powerful than expected. Musk even claimed that FSD could soon be used for over a year without human intervention once known bugs are fixed.
