Mahindra & Mahindra chooses France-based Dassault Systèmes’ 3D design platform for all future vehicles

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s top automotive and farm equipment makers, has chosen Dassault Systèmes’ as the provider of 3D design software for the development of its future vehicles.

Dassault Systèmes is part of the Dassault group of France, which also includes Dassault Aviation, and is a provider of 3D design software to major aviation and automotive companies in the world.

The move to go with Dassault Systèmes is also interesting, given that Mahindra & Mahindra also has its own IT services firm, Tech Mahindra.

The cloud-based platform of Dassault Systèmes will connect thousands of Mahindra employees and suppliers in a collaborative virtual environment, enabling efficient teamwork and innovation.

Mahindra & Mahindra will deploy the French company’s industry-specific solutions such as “Drive Emotion,” “Global Modular Architecture,” and “Smart Safe and Connected” to carry out vehicle planning, design, engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing.

“We wanted high-performance technology that would enable us to launch innovative vehicles faster and fulfill our sustainability ambitions. With Dassault Systèmes’ expertise and 3DEXPERIENCE platform, we can deepen collaboration, and expedite problem identification and resolution, leading to streamlining new vehicle launch timelines,” stated Rucha Nanavati, CIO of Mahindra & Mahindra.

Laurence Montanari, Vice President, Transportation & Mobility Industry at Dassault Systèmes, noted, “Mahindra & Mahindra has a long-standing partnership with Dassault Systèmes and they continue to put their trust in our solutions to develop the next generation of their vehicles. Our 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud addresses the increasing complexity in vehicle development due to regulations. Our work with Mahindra & Mahindra demonstrates the maturity of our cloud technology and solutions for automotive sector challenges.”

The move comes as M&M aims for faster innovation and sustainability in the highly competitive automotive market.
