The well-being survey 2024: Tell us how you feel at work!

For the third time, BIL and NBF are sending out the survey which shows the state of well-being and diversity among Norwegian car importers, dealers and workshops.

The well-being survey has been prepared in collaboration between BIL, NBF and the external supplier Moment, and will be carried out between 15 and 25 October. It will take approx. 5 minutes to complete, and the results will be presented in November.

The survey is carried out annually to maintain the focus we have on well-being, bullying and recruitment, and to look at trends and developments in the work. The aim of the survey is to survey some specific aspects of the working environment in the car industry, such as diversity and equality, turnover and career opportunities. It is important for us to know what makes employees happy at work and what they need to stay in the industry as long as possible.

The results are treated confidentially and anonymised before handing over to BIL and NBF. Nor will it be possible to compile information that enables individuals to be identified. We know that on average nine percent of women work in the car industry. There are large internal differences across the various actors. The largest proportion work in sales and administration, while there is great potential to recruit more women to work in production.

On The working environment portal there are two tools related to the working environment, developed especially for the automotive industry. Facts about the industry are also presented here. More than seven percent of employees state that they experience being harassed or teased in the workplace. 32 percent experience conflicts.

The member companies have the opportunity to order a report for their own business, but this requires that the employees enter the company’s organization number and that there are enough respondents that the anonymity of the employees can be safeguarded. The survey is confidential and the results will be anonymous.

BIL and NBF wish to emphasize that this will not be a substitute for surveying the working environment in the business, but can be a supplement.

Nor can the employees wait for the investigation to be followed up internally. It is intended to be a temperature gauge at industry level, so that more people will want to enter the car industry. The results will be able to help us in our further work to develop and strengthen the working environment in the car industry in Norway. It is therefore important that as many people as possible take the time to answer the survey, with as open and honest answers as possible.
