New Delhi: Envalior‘s StreetSmartees campaign, in association with ETAuto, reached the vibrant city of Bangalore. The innovative road safety initiative, primarily focused on pre-primary children, is aimed at instilling essential safety habits from an early age.
After successful workshops in Delhi and Gujarat, the campaign now brought its mission to Bangalore, a city known for its bustling streets and rich cultural heritage. With India witnessing over 1,50,000 road fatalities each year, road safety education is crucial. Envalior, committed to this cause, conducted workshops in government schools across the city.
The energy and enthusiasm among the students in Bangalore has been remarkable. By teaching children the importance of following traffic signals and using zebra crossings correctly, the campaign aimed to foster a generation that will contribute to safer roads in India.
Events in Bangalore saw students actively participating in interactive activities, such as creating traffic signs, role-playing as traffic police, and developing safety slogans. These activities not only educate but also engage young minds in a fun and meaningful way.
A student shared their learning, saying, “You should only use the zebra crossing to cross the road. We should only step onto the road when the signal is red. When the signal turns red, that’s when we should cross.”
The workshops also included interactive quizzes and demonstrations, giving the safety lessons. Outstanding efforts were recognized with awards, and certificates of participation were distributed to all students, acknowledging their contributions to road safety.
The StreetSmartees campaign is more than just a series of workshops; it is a movement towards a safer future on our roads. The organizers extended their gratitude to all participants, schools, and sponsors for their unwavering support. As the campaign progresses, stakeholders are invited to join hands in this endeavor, making roads safer, one workshop at a time.
