TOKYO — The Japan Fair Trade Commission on Friday issued a cautionary advisory to a Toyota Motor subsidiary, which had had unfair transactions with its 94 subcontractors, including forcing some to store molds without compensation.
The commission acknowledged that Toyota Customizing & Development, a company in which Toyota Motor has a 90.5% share, violated the Japanese Subcontract Act, which is aimed at maintaining fair trade and protect subcontractors’ profits.
