STATEMENTS

José López-Tafall, general director of ANFAC, indicated that “the announcement of the extension of MOVES III until the end of the year with an endowment of 350 million euros is good news. The electrified market needs security and continuity and that this is how it is perceived by the citizen. And in the last month, sales of electrified passenger cars have fallen again, placing the market share at 10.4% and below that of a year ago. It is time to accelerate and a market stagnant in these figures does not help progress in achieving the emissions reduction objectives set by Europe. For this year and at the current pace, achieving it will be difficult. Work must continue on the coordination of publicly accessible charging infrastructure, and on fiscal measures that encourage the buyer, whether individual or company, instead of penalizing. And, of course, we must work on the continuity of MOVES in 2025 and improve its efficiency through direct aid. For the electrified vehicle market to have notable progress in our country, it must have positive messages, from the public sphere and the sector, towards the citizen so that the electrified car is seen as a preferred purchase option.”
