Foreign LPs continue to evince interest in Southeast Asia, says AC Ventures’s Helen Wong

Jakarta-based early-stage venture capitalist AC Ventures, with its latest fundraise, has proven that Southeast Asia remains an attractive destination for international investors.

The venture capital (VC) firm raised $210 million for its fifth fund earlier this year with support from institutional investors from the US, Middle East, and North Asia despite the high interest rate environment and maturing tech cycle that drive limited partners (LPs) to go behind assets with less risk.

“We still see a lot of interest from those who are bullish on the region,” said AC Ventures Managing Partner Helen Wong. “For example, we have attracted some Korean LPs who are quite interested in our part of the world. We have also attracted Middle East sovereigns, and family offices from Europe.”
