Scotland-headquarted energy company SSE has opened its Myrekirk Roundabout EV charging hub near Dundee.
The hub features 24 ultra-rapid charging bays with a total capacity of nearly 2.5 MW. Eight of the bays will offer units of up to 360 kW. The remaining 16 bays will be equipped with 150 kW charging units.
Neil Kirkby, Managing Director for Enterprise at SSE, said, “SSE is playing a key role in decarbonizing the UK and Ireland’s transport system, with a commitment to roll out 300 ultra-rapid charging hubs over the next five years.” The company also plans to build its first charging hub for electric heavy goods vehicles at Tyseley Energy Park in Birmingham.
