Bee Raises $7M in Seed Funding

Bee, a San Francisco, CA-based AI developer of a life admin wearable assistant, raised $7M in seed funding.

The round was led by Exor with participation from Greycroft, New Wave VC, Banana Capital, and Brian Bedol.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts with launch set for Fall 2024.

Led by Maria de Lourdes Zollo, Bee is a wearable device that uses AI to achieve the autonomy and memory required to be a reliable assistant. According to Zollo, it manages tasks and allows users to take a step back from technology and be both more present, grounded and productive, in their daily life.

Bee hears everything you do, so it has a comprehensive understanding of users’ daily life. It uses those insights to perform tasks for them — from everyday tasks like setting reminders and making appointments, but also suggests activities that require more understanding, like suggesting when to take a break based on how their day is going or reminding them to catch up with a friend they haven’t seen in a while. Bees will be able to talk to each other, which means they can help manage relationships by communicating on your behalf with friends’ Bees.

With AI at its core, Bee gets smarter over time and will learn your preferences, habits, and priorities. To gather personal insights that inform its activity, Bee uses details like where people go, how they spend time, and even how they sound when they talk to make helpful suggestions tailored just for them.

A Bluetooth device with a microphone is about the same size as an AirTag. And if people don’t want to wear a Bee or don’t have it with them, the company also offers recording functionality through Apple Watch. In addition to the wearable, Bee also comes with its own cloud-based phone built to perform tasks across popular apps right out of the box, so it can make choices and perform actions with minimal guidance – whether it’s making a purchase on Amazon, getting a download on the latest Slack conversation, or ordering an Uber to dinner.
