The vehicle sales of Tata Motors for July 2024 declined to 71,996 units compared to 80,633 units sold last year. The drop covers both domestic sales, which fell 11% to 70,161 units from 78,844, and commercial vehicles, selling 27,042 units, an 18% decline from 32,944 units last year.
In the passenger vehicle segment, including electric vehicles (EVs), sales also dipped by 6%, totalling 44,954 units compared to 47,689 units in the same period last year. Segment-specific declines were noted in the domestic sales of medium and heavy intermediate commercial vehicles (MH & ICV), including trucks and buses, which registered 11,174 units, down from 13,291 units in July last year.
“Total sales for MH & ICV domestic and international Business in July, including trucks and buses, stood at 11,886 units – compared to 13,830 units in July 2023,” the automaker informed.
For the April-June period of this fiscal year, global wholesale numbers for all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles, including the Tata Daewoo range, reached 93,410 units, a 6% increase over Q1 FY24. However, global wholesale numbers for passenger vehicles, including EVs, were slightly down by 1%, to 138,682 units.
Sales figures for Q1 FY25 in both domestic and international markets stood at 229,891 vehicles, an increase from 226,245 units in Q1 FY24.
