Upcoming production plant at Talegaon Pune

The management board at Marquardt Germany is highly committed to offer advanced technological products and localised solutions to customers in India. The upcoming production plant in Talegaon, Pune, scheduled to commence operations by early 2025, will serve as a state-of-the-art facility for in-house electronics assembly.

The first phase of the production and warehouse area at the Talegaon facility will encompass approximately 25,000 square meters, with plans for future expansions to include in-house molding capabilities within an additional 35,000 square meters of space. This strategic Investment underscores Marquardt India’s long-term commitment to enhancing its manufacturing capabilities and meeting the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions in India.

Focus on innovation

Marquardt’s focus on developing innovative technologies in battery management and fuel cell control has led to the creation of groundbreaking products that exemplify the company’s dedication to advancing green mobility. As the automotive industry continues to evolve towards greater sustainability, Marquardt India is well positioned to drive the transformation with its forward-thinking solutions. As a result, Marquardt stands at the forefront of developing innovative technologies in the realms of battery management and fuel cell control. The following products highlight Marquardt’s commitment to these key technologies:

On-Board Charger (OBC) and DC/DC Converter

When it comes to efficient solutions for EVs, Marquardt has developed an On-Board Charger (OBC) specifically designed for motorcycles and scooters, significantly shortening the time taken for charging. This compact charger delivers up to 7.2 kW while occupying less than 5 liters of space, making it ideal for two-wheeled electric vehicles. With an impressive efficiency rate of 94%, which is near the limits of current technology, the OBC offers modular integration to accommodate varying power needs. Meanwhile, Marquardt is also planning a versatile DC/DC converter to meet the growing demands of vehicle electrification and advanced onboard systems.

High voltage sensor

Safety is mandatory in the development of high-voltage batteries for EVs. Marquardt’s High Voltage Sensor measures current and voltage within the battery system both quickly and continuously. The system can react immediately in the event of faults. With high safety functions up to ASIL D, the High Voltage Sensor is an essential component for modern electric vehicles. Its scalable design allows customization to meet individual customer requirements, making it particularly adaptable for a wide range of applications.

Cell Voltage Monitoring

Cell Voltage Monitoring systems (CVM) are a critical technology element in EVs that offer a detailed oversight of the voltages in individual fuel cells. They are continuously monitored and deliver real-time data on cell performance and condition. This compact CVM enhances stack service life, improves efficiency, and detects cell malfunctions early, thus avoiding costly repairs to the fuel cell stack.

Cell Module Controller

Optimizing Battery Power and Protecting Against Failures is an important consideration for OEMs and end users. We have introduced the Cell Module Controller (CMC), a groundbreaking solution designed to enhance battery efficiency and safety. The CMC monitors each individual battery cell in real-time, optimizing performance and preventing failures. This advanced controller manages critical parameters such as deep discharge, overcharging, and temperature extremes, ensuring reliable operation and extending battery life. Suitable for automotive, truck, and stationary energy systems, the CMC offers seamless integration and scalability, adapting to various battery chemistries and configurations. By minimizing imbalances and protecting against overheating, the CMC not only enhances battery safety but also reduces long-term replacement costs, delivering significant savings and improved performance.

High and Low Voltage Battery Management Systems

With the trend towards High Voltage Box systems, our dedicated platform provides a comprehensive solution for HV switching, monitoring, and control. It measures voltage, current, balance, and temperature, serving as the interface between the HV Battery Pack and the vehicle. The system meets the highest safety standards, including ASIL-D and OBD 2. The Low Voltage Battery Management System (BMS) is a sophisticated solution designed for monitoring and controlling low voltage battery packs. This system provides comprehensive oversight by tracking key parameters such as voltage, temperature, and current, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
