Volkswagen launches Onam editions of Taigun, Virtus

Volkswagen has launched a new special edition model for its Taigun midsize SUV and Virtus midsize sedan at Rs 14.08 lakh-15.63 lakh and Rs 13.57 lakh-14.87 lakh, respectively. The launch of the special edition not only celebrates the festival of Onam, but also the inauguration of six new touchpoints in the state of Kerala. The Taigun and Virtus Onam Edition are limited-run variants, and get exterior and feature-related changes.

The Onam Editions will have a limited run of 100 units each, and only be available in Kerala. Both models get an all-black finish, outside and in, with even the chrome bits – such as the grille – getting black touches. The models also get additional features in the form of front parking sensors, a dual tone horn, puddle lamps and a TSI badge on the front fender.

Volkswagen Taigun Onam Edition

Volkswagen has confirmed the Taigun Onam Edition model is based on the higher-spec GT Line variant, which means it shares the same features and safety kit. Highlights include the all-black interior and exterior, including black 17-inch ‘Cassino’ alloy wheels, the 8-inch digital driver display, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, a powered sunroof, ventilated front seats and automatic climate control. Meanwhile, the Virtus Onam is based on the Highline variant, and shares nearly all the features seen on the Taigun Onam, but for the sunroof.

Considering their prices, the Onam Editions cost the same compared to the variants on which they are based. The Onam Edition models are only available with the 115hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which comes with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
