Sunroofs are becoming increasingly common in the Indian automotive market and nearly all major mass-market manufacturers are including this feature in their cars and SUVs. Currently, there are nine cars and SUVs available for under Rs 10 lakh that come with a single-pane electric sunroof. Here’s the complete list.
Tata Altroz
Price: Rs 7.45 lakh onwards
The Tata Altroz is the most affordable car in India to get an electric sunroof, available from the XM S variant priced at Rs 7.45 lakh. Other variants with this feature under Rs 10 lakh include XM+S, XZ+S, XZ+ S Lux and XZ+ (O) S. The Altroz comes with 1.2-litre NA petrol, petrol-CNG, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (Altroz Racer) engine options.
Hyundai Exter
Price: Rs 8.23 lakh onwards
Hyundai Exter gets a sunroof from the SX variant onwards, priced from Rs 8.23 lakh. This makes it the most affordable SUV in India with an electric sunroof. Other variants under Rs 10 lakh with a sunroof include SX (O) and SX(O) Connect, along with the Knight edition versions of these three variants. The Exter gets a 83hp, 114Nm 1.2-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine, along with an optional CNG powertrain.
Kia Sonet
Price: Rs 8.29 lakh onwards
Priced at Rs 8.29 lakh, the Kia Sonet HTE (O) ) is the most affordable variant to come with an electric sunroof. The HTK (O) also gets a sunroof, starting from Rs 9.37 lakh. These variants are available with the 1.2-litre NA petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, while higher trims also get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol powertrain.
Tata Punch
Price: Rs 8.35 lakh
The Tata Punch gets a sunroof from the Accomplished S variant onwards, with prices starting from Rs 8.35 lakh. Other variants with this feature include the Accomplished Dazzle S, starting at Rs 8.75 lakh, and the Creative S, starting at Rs 9.30 lakh. The Punch is equipped with a sole 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 86hp and 113Nm of torque, and a CNG option is also available.
Mahindra XUV 3XO
Price: Rs 8.99 lakh onwards
The Mahindra XUV 3XO gets a single-pane sunroof from the MX2 Pro variant, priced at Rs 8.99 lakh onwards. MX3 (Rs 9.49 lakh) and MX3 Pro (Rs 9.99 lakh) also get a single-pane sunroof under Rs 10 lakh. Higher variants are even equipped with a segment-first panoramic sunroof. The XUV 3XO comes with 111hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, 131hp, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol and 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
Hyundai i20
Price: Rs 9.34 lakh onwards
Hyundai offers an electric sunroof on the i20 from the Asta and Asta (O) variants, starting from Rs 9.34 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, respectively. The premium hatch gets a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine making 83hp and 115Nm torque, available with a 5-speed MT and an optional CVT auto.
Hyundai Venue
Price: Rs 9.35 lakh onwards
The Hyundai Venue recently received a new S+ variant, which is now the most affordable variant with a sunroof, starting at Rs 9.35 lakh. Earlier this month, the company also introduced a new S(O)+ variant with an electric sunroof, priced at Rs 10 lakh.
Tata Nexon
Price: Rs 9.40 lakh onwards
The Tata Nexon comes with a sunroof starting from the Smart+ S variant, priced at Rs 9.40 lakh. This is the only variant under Rs 10 lakh to have a sunroof. The compact SUV may soon be available with a panoramic sunroof and a DCT auto gearbox for the diesel engine option.
Hyundai i20 N Line
Price: Rs 10 lakh onwards
The Hyundai i20 N Line is priced from Rs 10 lakh, which means only the entry-level N6 variant qualifies to be on the list. However, the sporty hatch gets a sunroof as standard on both N6 and N8 trim levels. It is equipped with a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch auto.
