New Delhi: The sales of Tata Motors for August 2024 declined 8% to 71,693 units compared to 78,010 units sold in August last year. The drop covers both domestic sales, which fell 8% to 70,006 units from 76,261 and commercial vehicles, selling 27,207 units, a 15% decline from 32,077 units last year.
Domestic sales of commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses fell 16% Y-o-Y to 25,864 units as against 30,748 units in the year-ago period.
In the passenger vehicle segment, including electric vehicles (EVs), sales dipped by 3%, totaling 44,486 units compared to 45,933 units in the same period last year.
Segment-specific declines were noted in the domestic sales of medium and heavy intermediate commercial vehicles (MH & ICV), including trucks and buses, which registered 12,008 units, down from 13,506 units in August last year.
Total sales for MH & ICV domestic and international business in July, including trucks and buses, stood at 12,708 units compared to 14,016 units in August 2023.
For the April-June period of this fiscal year, global wholesale numbers for all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles, including the Tata Daewoo range, reached 93,410 units, a 6% increase over Q1 FY24. However, global wholesale numbers for passenger vehicles, including EVs, were slightly down by 1%, to 138,682 units.
Sales figures for Q1 FY25 in both domestic and international markets stood at 229,891 vehicles, an increase from 226,245 units in Q1 FY24.
