Ultraviolette Launches Kochi UV Space Station on World EV Day, Expanding Electric Mobility Presence in India

Ultraviolette has opened its latest UV Space Station Experience Center in Kochi, coinciding with World EV Day and the Onam festival. This new center is part of Ultraviolette’s broader plan to establish 50 experience centers globally and follows the successful launch of a similar facility in Ahmedabad.

The Kochi UV Space Station, the largest electric motorcycle showroom in the city, is equipped with advanced digital diagnostic tools and offers on-call technical assistance directly from Ultraviolette’s headquarters in Bengaluru. The facility, spanning 3,500 square feet, serves as a 3S center, covering sales, service, and spares.

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, stated, “Launching the Kochi UV Space Station on World EV Day is a step forward in our mission to enhance electric mobility. Kochi has shown significant interest in EVs, and with the F77 Mach 2, we aim to elevate the city’s electric mobility experience.”

The F77 Mach 2, powered by a 10.3 kWh SRB7 Lithium-ion battery, offers a high range and performance, along with an industry-leading 800,000 km battery warranty. The motorcycle aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Design in India, Design for the World” and represents Ultraviolette’s commitment to innovation in the electric vehicle sector.

This new Kochi facility is part of Ultraviolette’s ongoing expansion in key Indian markets, with plans to establish a presence in 10 Indian cities by Diwali 2024. The timing of this launch coincides with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s announcement of a new industrial city in Palakkad, part of the Kochi-Bengaluru Hi-Tech Industrial Corridor, which is expected to boost economic growth and innovation in the region.

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO & Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, added, “Kochi’s adoption of new technologies aligns with our mission to advance electric mobility. Our UV Space Station in Kochi is designed to provide a comprehensive customer experience, reflecting our commitment to innovation.”

Kerala, a significant player in India’s auto market, is pivotal due to its high vehicle density and progressive consumer base. The state’s emphasis on sustainable development boosts the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Government incentives and growing environmental awareness drive EV uptake, reflecting a shift towards cleaner transportation.

Kerala’s robust infrastructure, including expanding charging networks, supports this transition. The state’s unique blend of high literacy rates and eco-consciousness fosters a fertile ground for EV growth
