Noida: The Noida International Airport (NIA) has partnered with Statiq, an electric vehicle (EV) charging network, which will set up, operate, and maintain an airside electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the airport.
According to NIA officials, all concessionaires and airport vehicles will have access to this EV charging network, designed to support the airport’s sustainability initiatives and reduce emissions across its operations.
In the first phase of this partnership, Statiq will install a mix of 7.4 kW AC chargers for smaller electric vehicles, as well as 120 kW and 240 kW chargers for high-powered, rapid charging needs.
NIA chief development officer Nicolas Schenk said, “With Statiq’s expertise, we will ensure 24/7 availability of fast EV charging infrastructure for all airside operations, in line with our sustainable design and operations principles.”
The first phase of the airport — featuring one runway and one terminal — is likely to become operational by April 2025.
It will have the capacity to handle traffic of 12 million passengers annually.
