Tata Electronics, Tata Motors, and Tejas Networks sign MoU with Analog Devices to explore cooperative manufacturing opportunities, enhancing India’s semiconductor ecosystem and advancing electric vehicles, network infrastructure, and energy storage solutions.
Tata Group, an Indian-based global enterprise, and Analog Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADI), a global semiconductor company, have announced a strategic alliance to explore potential cooperative manufacturing opportunities.
Tata Electronics, Tata Motors, and Tejas Networks have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ADI to enhance strategic and business cooperation. The collaboration aims to explore opportunities for semiconductor manufacturing in India and integrate ADI’s products into Tata’s applications, such as electric vehicles and network infrastructure.
Both companies have agreed to engage in strategic roadmap discussions. This joint effort is expected to contribute to the development of a electronics manufacturing ecosystem in India, addressing both domestic and global needs. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, claimed that the Tata Group is committed to building a semiconductor industry in India and expressed optimism about partnering with ADI to explore collaboration across the semiconductor value chain.
Tata Electronics is currently investing $11 billion in India’s first semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat. Additionally, the company plans to invest another $3 billion in a new facility in Jagiroad, Assam, for the assembly and testing of semiconductor chips.
The partnership between Tata Electronics and ADI will explore the potential for manufacturing ADI’s products in these facilities. Tata Motors and ADI will explore opportunities in energy storage solutions and power electronics for commercial and passenger vehicles, while Tejas Networks and ADI will look into collaborations in network infrastructure components.
