Honda Cars India introduces Direct Connect Platform for real-time car exploration

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), a car manufacturer in India, has introduced an improvement to its virtual showroom with the launch of a new Direct Connect interface. Initially available for the Honda Elevate, the platform uses real-time cloud visualiser technology to improve the online car exploration process. This feature is expected to be extended to other models in the future.

Direct Connect is a customer-facing platform designed to provide a live, interactive experience for users during their online car purchase journey. It enables customers to engage with an expert in real time, who will explain the car’s features, assist in choosing the right variant, and offer guidance on accessories while also providing a price estimate.

Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd., said, “The Direct Connect platform allows real-time interaction between customers and experts, providing a visually interactive way for users to explore the Honda Elevate and make informed decisions from their homes or offices.”

Key features of Direct Connect include a photorealistic view of the Honda Elevate, allowing users to change colors, explore features, and visualise accessories. Customers can also book a test drive with their preferred dealership during the call, streamlining the buying process.

The Honda Elevate is a compact SUV powered by a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine that delivers 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. It comes with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic gearbox, providing smooth handling and flexibility for different driving conditions.

The SUV features a bold exterior design with a large front grille, LED headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the Elevate offers a spacious cabin with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, and a digital instrument cluster.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, vehicle stability assist, and Honda’s LaneWatch camera. The Elevate also boasts a ground clearance of 220 mm, making it suitable for varied road conditions, along with a 458-liter boot capacity for added convenience.
