Anant Mukesh Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), and Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp, jointly inaugurated Jio-bp’s 500th EV-charging station at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The new station also marks the installation of the 5,000th Jio-bp pulse charging point in India.
Jio-bp, a fuels and mobility collaboration between RIL and bp, has significantly expanded its EV-charging network from 1,300 to 5,000 charging points within a year. The network includes a 95% share of fast-charging stations, the highest in the industry, with an industry-leading uptime of 96%, positioning Jio-bp as a reliable charging provider in India.
The company has introduced advanced 480 kW chargers, delivering an efficient and rapid charging experience at strategic locations, including malls, corporate parks, and public spaces. Jio-bp’s focus on reducing range anxiety, minimising charging times with DC fast chargers, and offering a seamless digital experience via the Jio-bp pulse charging app has positioned it as a leader in promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the country.
