Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced the launch of the CB300F flex-fuel motorcycle, which is India’s first 300cc flex-fuel bike. This marks a step toward greener mobility solutions, targeting environmentally conscious riders. The 2024 Honda CB300F flex-fuel is now available for booking at BigWing dealerships and is priced at Rs. 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI, highlighted that Honda aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, for both its products and corporate activities. He noted that the launch of the flex-fuel CB300F aligns with Honda’s approach to sustainable product development. Honda, with over a decade of expertise in flex-fuel technology, has introduced this motorcycle specifically for Indian customers, supporting a smoother transition to flex-fuel vehicles. This launch also supports the Government of India’s Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) program.
Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales and Marketing at HMSI, commented that Indian consumers are seeking motorcycles that balance performance with environmental sustainability. He described the Honda CB300F flex-fuel as offering a blend of advanced technology and eco-conscious features, providing riders with a flexible fuel option while maintaining Honda’s standard for reliability and performance.
The CB300F flex-fuel features a 293.52cc oil-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder PGM-FI engine, compatible with up to E85 fuel (a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline). It generates 18.3 kW of power and 25.9 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and includes an assist slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts and to prevent rear wheel hopping during downshifting.
In terms of handling and technology, the CB300F flex-fuel is equipped with disc brakes at the front and rear, measuring 276mm and 220mm respectively. It includes dual-channel ABS and Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) as standard features. The bike has golden-colored USD front forks and a 5-step adjustable rear mono-shock suspension to enhance rider comfort. An all-LED lighting system is also included.
The bike features a fully digital instrument panel with five levels of customizable brightness. The panel displays speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, twin trip meters, gear position indicator, and a clock. It also has an Intelligent Ethanol Indicator that alerts the rider if the fuel contains more than 85% ethanol.
The introduction of the CB300F flex-fuel continues HMSI’s efforts to provide solutions that address both customer preferences and environmental concerns.
