ARC Electric, a startup focused on electric vehicle (EV) transportation, has entered into a partnership with Aon plc, a British-American professional services and management consulting firm, to support Aon’s sustainability efforts. The partnership involves the use of ARC Electric’s EVs for employee transportation across India, aligning with Aon’s objective to reduce its carbon footprint and integrate eco-friendly practices.
Aon, which has a global workforce of approximately 50,000 employees across 120 countries, will replace fossil-fueled cabs with ARC Electric’s EVs. From January to March 2024, ARC Electric supplied EV cabs that covered around 80,000 kilometers, leading to a reduction of approximately 12,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions. This reduction is equivalent to saving 462 trees. The shift to EVs not only contributes to sustainable transportation but also enhances the safety and comfort of Aon’s employees.
Abhinav Kalia, Founder and CEO of ARC Electric, noted that the collaboration with Aon represents a step towards reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable practices. The EV cabs are designed to provide both a greener alternative and an improved ride experience for employees.
Manish Gupta, Director of Aon India, and Rahul Kedia, CFO of Aon India, highlighted that the partnership with ARC Electric aligns with Aon’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. By adopting EVs, Aon is actively working to reduce its environmental impact, and this initiative also contributes to employee convenience and economic efficiency.
ARC Electric provides a B2B platform that manages the entire employee transportation system (ETS) lifecycle, from cab onboarding to scheduling and monitoring services. The company will offer its EV cab services to Aon in multiple metropolitan cities, with a focus on environmentally sustainable transportation.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation solutions and achieving long-term environmental goals for both ARC Electric and Aon.
