Volkswagen Passenger Cars India marked a milestone this Dhanteras with the delivery of 200 vehicles across its retail outlets in Punjab.
The deliveries showcase the German automaker’s growing popularity in the region, particularly with its premium sedan, the Volkswagen Virtus, which maintains its position as the segment leader in Punjab since its launch.
The brand expressed a commitment to offering vehicles that align with customer expectations for quality, safety, and performance, highlighting the appeal of Volkswagen’s German-engineered models. The Volkswagen Virtus has been a top-selling premium sedan in Punjab since its debut, the company said.
Volkswagen offers a variety of models in the Indian market, such as the Virtus sedan and the Taigun and Tiguan SUVs, each equipped with features designed to cater to diverse driving preferences and requirements.
The Volkswagen Virtus, a midsize sedan, is equipped with a choice of two engine options—a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine and a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine. The 1.0-litre variant delivers 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre version offers 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque, providing a performance range suitable for both city commutes and longer drives. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control, among others, reinforcing Volkswagen’s emphasis on passenger security.
Volkswagen’s Taigun, a compact SUV, also offers two engine choices similar to the Virtus, both turbocharged petrol options, designed to deliver both power and fuel efficiency. The Taigun includes advanced safety systems such as hill-hold control, electronic stability program (ESP), and tire pressure monitoring, all aimed at providing stability and control. The Taigun’s interior is equipped with an infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, catering to tech-savvy customers.
The Tiguan, a premium SUV, focuses on delivering a blend of luxury and power. It is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, combined with Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive technology for improved handling and traction. The Tiguan’s interior includes features like a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and a digital cockpit display. It also incorporates multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and ABS with EBD, enhancing safety for passengers.
The 200-car milestone highlights Volkswagen’s engagement with its customer base in Punjab.
