Stellantis expands Lab and Office in Bengaluru

Stellantis has announced the inauguration of its expanded lab and office facilities in Bengaluru, marking a significant step in enhancing its capabilities in automotive technology. The expansion increases seating capacity by 50%, aimed at fostering better collaboration among team members.

The new facilities, which are led by Stellantis’ Chief Software Officer, Yves Bonnefont, are positioned as a key part of the company’s global strategy. The Bengaluru office and lab will play an important role in supporting Stellantis’ global objectives, particularly in the development of software-defined vehicles and advanced technologies.

The expanded lab is designed to support end-to-end development, integrating both hardware and software. This allows for in-house design and development of high-performance computing systems and advanced cockpit technologies. One of the goals of the expansion is to streamline operations by reducing the number of CPUs in vehicles, which can improve overall vehicle performance.

Yves Bonnefont highlighted that the new lab would enable the development of various technologies, including advanced telematics, digital cockpits, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and more. This will help Stellantis meet the growing demand for innovative solutions in both the domestic and international markets.

The expansion also includes a focus on audio engineering and acoustic performance. The new lab will allow for improvements in areas such as audio tuning, benchmarking, active sound design, noise management, and telephony, aiming to enhance the auditory experience in vehicle cabins.

Overall, the Bengaluru facility will support Stellantis’ global brands and help the company strengthen its position in the automotive technology sector. This move reflects Stellantis’ commitment to leveraging its Indian operations as a key development hub for innovation.
