Bosch posts 6.4% revenue growth in Q2 driven by passenger car and genset sales

Bosch Ltd, a major supplier of technology and services, has reported a total revenue from operations of ₹4,394 crore in the second quarter of FY25, marking a 6.4% increase over the same quarter last year. The company attributed this growth primarily to higher sales in passenger vehicles and the off-highway genset applications segment.

Profit after tax (PAT), inclusive of exceptional items, was ₹536 crore, representing 12.2% of revenue. Profit before tax (PBT), excluding exceptional items, stood at ₹677 crore, accounting for 15.4% of total revenue—an increase of 27.3% from the previous year. Including exceptional items, PBT reached ₹726 crore or 16.5% of revenue. These exceptional items include gains from the sale of the OE/OES diagnostic business.

Despite macroeconomic factors and variable rainfall impacting the automotive sector, Bosch’s President and Managing Director for India, Guruprasad Mudlapur, noted the company’s adaptability. “Despite unpredictable rainfall and several macroeconomic factors affecting the automotive industry’s overall performance this quarter, we showcased our capacity to adapt to changing market demands and provide high-quality solutions that align with our customers’ needs,” he said.

In the automotive segment, Bosch saw a 6.7% year-over-year increase in overall product sales, with the power solutions business—which comprises 73% of automotive sales—growing by 5.7%, spurred by demand for passenger cars, genset applications, and export markets. Meanwhile, Bosch’s Mobility Aftermarket business rose 8.8%, fuelled by demand for lubricants and diesel components.
Bosch’s Beyond Mobility division, which includes Power Tools and Security Technologies, recorded a notable 13.8% increase in net sales, reflecting continued growth across these product lines.

Anticipating continued demand across key segments during the festive period, Bosch is also investing in advanced technologies and localisation to support future growth. Mudlapur added, “We anticipate sustained demand across segments driven by the festive period in the next quarter. Coupled with investments in advanced technologies and a strong commitment to localisation, Bosch Ltd will continue to deepen its efforts in high-growth areas and develop further capabilities to cater to an ever-evolving mobility landscape.”
