IIT Kanpur and Zynetic collaborate to improve EV charging technology

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited, a company involved in the development, operation, and management of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This partnership is intended to support the innovation and deployment of advanced AC and DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, contributing to the expansion of EV infrastructure in India.

Zynetic focuses on creating sustainable, high-performance charging solutions for the EV sector. With expertise in EV charging technologies, Zynetic aims to assist India’s shift toward sustainable energy solutions by advancing EV infrastructure. 

Through this MoU, IIT Kanpur and Zynetic plan to collaborate on research, academic exchange, and consultancy to address key challenges in EV charging technology. Areas of focus will include power electronics, embedded systems, and integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive maintenance. By combining IIT Kanpur’s research strengths with Zynetic’s industry experience, the collaboration seeks to develop reliable and efficient next-generation EV chargers to meet the needs of India’s growing EV market.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, stated, “Our partnership with Zynetic exemplifies how academia and industry can work together to enhance EV infrastructure and support India’s environmental goals. Meeting the government’s goal of 30% EV adoption for new private vehicle registrations by 2030 will require a broad charging network. This collaboration allows IIT Kanpur to contribute to India’s energy objectives and promote sustainable practices.”

Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean of R&D at IIT Kanpur, commented, “This partnership with Zynetic allows us to explore new developments in EV charging technology.
