From CONI the highest honor of Italian sport

This morning, in Rome, at the Sinopoli Hall of the “Ennio Morricone” Auditorium Parco della Musica, the President of the ACI – Angelo Sticchi Damiani – received, from the hands of the President of CONI Giovanni Malagò, the “Golden Collar of Sporting Merit”, the highest honor in Italian sport.

“Thank you for this extraordinary award,” declared Sticchi Damiani. “We have achieved some good results: we are the first Federation in the world for world titles, we have two Formula 1 Grands Prix, a world Rally and the world Endurance, and we have a driver – Andrea Kimi Antonelli – a boy we have been following for some years, who, in a few months, will sit in the single-seater of a top team.”

“A great satisfaction – concluded the ACI President: we will hear the Italian anthem not only when Ferrari wins – which we hope will happen very, very often next season – but also when Andrea, who is very good, wins. I think we can start the new year with the serenity of having done a good job.”
