The winery marks this important milestone with a dedicated series of trade and media activations focused on High Valley AVA and announces the first-ever release of an exclusive wine in the fall
CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif., Feb. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Acknowledged as one of the most authoritative and successful rising voices in Northern California and the passionate ambassador of the stunning High Valley AVA in Lake County, Brassfield Estate Winery celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. To mark this special milestone, Brassfield Estate Winery has organized a dense calendar of major events, educational moments, and activities for the trade, press, and consumers and aimed at sharing the rewarding journey taken so far and the next steps that lie ahead. Established by visionary entrepreneur Jerry Brassfield, Brassfield Estate Winery embodies a story of dedication, respect for the land, and fervent attention to detail that enlivens every single gesture, from the vineyards to the tasting room.
“2025 represents a huge milestone for us and confirms how vision, dedication, and hard work have let us grow in the right direction, allowing us to become a point of reference for the region and bringing High Valley AVA to new heights,” said Chris Baker, President of Brassfield Estate Winery. “We look forward to a very successful year, marked by an important partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, some exciting events leading up to the first edition of the Volcano Camp and, last but not least, the launch of an icon wine in the fall.”
Activities kicked off on January 13, 2025, with a dedicated online webinar for trade professionals. Organized by The SOMM Journal, the “Into the Earth: The Volcanic Wines of Northern California” webinar offered attendees the opportunity for a deep dive into Lake County’s unique geology, moderated by The SOMM Journal Vice President of Education Lars Leicht, together with Brassfield Estate Winery General Manager Jonathan Walters, renowned research geologist Dr. Seth Burgess, Brassfield Estate Winery Consulting Winemakers Katharine and David DeSante, and Co-Founder of Obsidian Wine Co. Arpad Molnar. The recording of the webinar is available at the following link: https://sommjournal.com/watch-the-volcanic-wines-of-northern-california-webinar-on-january-13-2025/
From April 13-16, Brassfield Estate Winery will be hosting the first edition of its Volcano Camp. The on-site three-day event will offer a select group of trade attendees the opportunity to visit the family-run estate and explore High Valley AVA, its special geological features, and understand how the shape and orientation of this volcanic valley offer a unique landscape naturally inclined to grow premium fruit and give life to memorable Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. During the Volcano Camp, guests will have the opportunity to visit the vineyards, including the special “Block 14” where the winery grows some of its best grapes, taste through the estate-grown portfolio and engage in interactive discussions with the Brassfield Estate Winery team around grape growing and winemaking philosophies and practices.
In the next few months, Brassfield Estate Winery will also be attending multiple key events for the industry, thus further increasing brand awareness in front of trade and consumers across the country. From the Pebble Beach Food & Wine in April to TEXSOM in August, from the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival in October to participation in both the Charleston Wine + Food and the Austin Food & Wine Festival in November, Brassfield Estate Winery will be at the forefront of the country’s most important wine events.
The intense schedule of events confirms Brassfield Estate Winery’s commitment to showcasing the beautiful region of Lake County alongside its high-quality wines both at a local and national level, further strengthening the reputation and market presence through an exclusive distribution with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, effective January 1. In the fall, the winery will also release a premium wine, available for the first time ever and produced only in limited amounts and sold through allocation.
