Bajaj Launches ABS-equipped Pulsar NS 125, Targets Young Riders

Bajaj Auto Ltd. has introduced an ABS-equipped variant of its Pulsar NS125 motorcycle, priced at ₹1,06,739 (ex-showroom Delhi). The launch marks a significant safety upgrade for India’s most powerful 125cc motorcycle segment.

The new variant features a single-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), building upon the 2024 updates that included LED headlamps, digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, and USB charging capabilities. The motorcycle retains its class-leading power output of 12 PS and 11 Nm of torque.

Bajaj Auto, which holds the position of being the world’s most valuable two and three-wheeler manufacturer, has equipped the NS125 with a 5-step monoshock suspension and perimeter frame. The digital console provides essential information including gear position, distance-to-empty, and real-time fuel economy metrics.

This launch follows the growing trend of ABS implementation across motorcycle segments in India, driven by safety regulations and consumer demand for advanced safety features in entry-level performance motorcycles.

Sarang Kanade, President of Bajaj Auto’s Motorcycle Business Unit, emphasized the company’s focus on meeting Generation Z’s expectations, highlighting the motorcycle’s blend of performance and safety features.

The Indian 125cc motorcycle segment has seen significant evolution over the past decade, transforming from basic commuter vehicles to performance-oriented machines with advanced safety features. The segment has become increasingly competitive with manufacturers introducing tech-enabled features previously reserved for higher-displacement motorcycles.

Bajaj Auto has maintained its presence in this segment since the introduction of the first Pulsar in 2001, with the NS series representing their premium streetfighter offering in the entry-level performance category.
