Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has today launched the updated OBD2B-compliant Hornet 2.0 motorcycle in the Indian market. The 2025 model features enhanced styling, advanced technology integration, and improved safety features, according to company officials.
Priced at Rs. 1,56,953 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new motorcycle is immediately available at HMSI Red Wing and BigWing dealerships nationwide.
At the launch event, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, highlighted the model’s evolution since its 2020 debut.
“The Hornet 2.0 has been a game-changer in the segment ever since it was first introduced in August 2020. Over the years, we have continuously updated the motorcycle and even introduced special MotoGP edition models, each receiving an overwhelming response from our customers,” said Otani. “With the new OBD2B-compliant Hornet 2.0, we aim to take this legacy forward by offering an even more refined riding experience, coupled with cutting-edge technology and superior safety features.”
The 2025 Hornet 2.0 comes equipped with notable technological upgrades including a 4.2-inch TFT display featuring Bluetooth connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app. This integration allows riders to access navigation support, incoming call alerts, and message notifications while on the move. The addition of a USB C-type charging port further enhances connectivity options.
Mr. Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales and Marketing at HMSI, emphasized the motorcycle’s performance-oriented design and safety enhancements.
“The motorcycle now boasts aggressive new graphics, an advanced digital TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and safety features like Honda Selectable Torque Control and Dual-Channel ABS,” Mathur stated.
Powering the Hornet 2.0 is an OBD2B-compliant 184.40cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 12.50 kW of power at 8500 RPM and 15.7 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and features an Assist & Slipper Clutch for smoother gear shifts.
The motorcycle will be available in four color options: Pearl Igneous Black, Radiant Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Mat Axis Gray Metallic.
Industry analysts note that this update aligns with HMSI’s strategy to maintain competitiveness in the premium commuter segment while complying with the latest emission standards through OBD2B implementation.
