Honda has revealed the 2025 Prologue, which for the new model year will offer an upgraded front power unit that enhances the all-electric SUV’s range and power.
Through it, the EV gains an increase of 12 miles (19 km) for an estimated maximum range of 308 miles (495 km), while the output of the single motor two-wheel drive models see an increase to 220 hp (164 kW), from 212 hp (158 kW), and 243 lb-ft (329 Nm) of torque, from 236 lb-ft (319 Nm).
Models in the 2025 Prologue range equipped with Honda’s AWD system gain similar range increases, with an increase of 13 miles (20km) enabling a 294-mile (473-kilometer) range on the EX and Touring, alongside a 10-mile (16-kilometer) increase for the Elite resulting in a new maximum range of 283 miles (455 km). In terms of power and torque, these AWD models equally gain 12 hp (8 kW) for a new maximum output of 300 hp (223 kW), and 25 lb-ft (33 Nm) for a total torque of 355 lb-ft (481 Nm).
For 2025, the new Prologue will be offered in three trim levels, EX, Touring, and Elite, through which Honda is aiming to offer an eclectic range of standard and available technology features. Pricing for the range starts at $47,400 (£37,193 / €44,993) (excluding a $1,450 / £1,137 / €1,374 destination charge) before incentives or tax credits. With all 2025 Prologues qualifying for the U.S. $7,500 (£5,884 / €7,110) EV federal tax credit, this brings the base price down to $39,900 (£31,307 / €37,827) for qualified customers, mirroring the entry price of the 2024 Prologue.
Among the 2025 Prologue’s key standard features are Google built-in, alongside wireless compatibility with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; a wireless phone charger; SiriusXM satellite radio; HondaSensing (the OEM’s safety driving assist system); alongside cabin features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a 10-way power driver seat with adjustable lumbar support.
Across these trim levels, all 2025 Prologue models can be recharged on DC at rates up to 150 kW. Leveraging its 85-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, Honda says the EV can replenish 65 miles (104 km) of range in approximately 10 minutes. While detailing these specifications, Honda highlighted that, by 2030, owners of the 2025 Prologue will be able to access the approximately 100,000 DC fast-charging points across North America currently being established through IONNA (its charging joint venture with several global automakers). At the same time, owners can also benefit from Tesla’s network of Superchargers, as well as the EVgo and Electrify America charging networks.
At the point of purchase or lease, Honda will offer customers of a new Prologue one of three charging packages to support them when charging at home or on the road. Included in the MSRP, these packages offer a combination of public charging credits, charging equipment, and installation credit in order to suit a broad range of driver needs.
Here, charging credits with EVgo, and its partner roaming networks, are included with each optional charging package. Designed to add convenience to the Prologue charging experience, these credits range from $750 (£588 / €710) for owners aiming to maximize public charging to $100 (£78 / €94) for owners who select a Level 2 Home Charging Station and $500 (£392 / €473) installation credit, with a middle option including a $300 (£235 / €284) public charging credit paired with a Level 1/Level 2 Portable Charging Kit and a $250 (£196 / €236) installation credit.
The installation credit can be redeemed through the Honda Home Electrification (HHE), where customers can access a network of local installers and support from the OEM’s energy advisors on the installation process, rebates, incentives, and other home electrification products.
Through Electrify America, first-time Honda EV owners can benefit from 60 kWh of free public charging, which is included with each available charging package. Public charging credits can be redeemed through Honda’s new HondaLink app, available for iOS and Android devices, that can also be used to find available stations, pay for charging, enroll in subscription plans, and access further features at both EVgo and Electrify America charging stations.
