EV charging system developer and manufacturer Kempower has collaborated with Quebec-based charging station installer and support services provider Bornes Quebec to launch a scalable, upgradable EV charging system with dynamic power-sharing capabilities for the Quebec Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB)’s fleet of 30 school buses.
The charging site, which opened in 2024, has 14 DC fast chargers. The system uses Kempower’s cloud-based ChargEye charging management software and has the ability to identify fleet buses at plug-in. This eliminates the need for a gated security system and opens the potential for turning the site into a public charging station during periods when school buses are inactive.
“The versatility of Kempower chargers helps us in our operations and reduces operational costs,” said Bruce Banfill, Assistant Director of Transportation at ETSB.
