General Motors and Nvidia for Auto-KI

GM and NVIDIA want to change the automotive industry with AI partnership for digital twins from production lines and new high-performance vehicle computers.

General Motors and Nvidia Work together on vehicles, factories and robots of the next generation using AI, simulation and accelerated computing. Companies will work together to develop tailor-made AI systems with NVIDIA platforms for accelerated computing, including Nvidia Omniverse with Nvidia Cosmos to train AI production models to optimize the factory planning and robotics from GM.

GM has already invested in Nvidia GPU platforms for training AI models in various areas such as simulation and validation. The cooperation between the companies is now expanding to transformation of automotive planning and operation.

GM will use the NVIDIA OMNIVERSE platform to create digital twins from assembly lines that enable virtual tests and production simulations to reduce downtimes. The efforts will include the training of already used robotics platforms for activities such as material handling and transport as well as precision welding in order to increase safety and efficiency in production.

GM will also build on NVIDIA Drive Agx vehicles based on the Nvidia Blackwell Architecture, and use the safety-certified NVIDIA DriveoS operating system. With up to 1,000 trillion operations per second of high -performance calculation, this vehicle computer can accelerate the development and use of safe autonomous vehicles on a large scale.
