Bangalore-based electric vehicle manufacturer Numeros Motors has been awarded the National Intellectual Property (IP) Award 2024 for its achievements in IP filing, grant/registration, and commercialization. The company was recognized as the ‘Top Startup’ in this category by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with the award presented by Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal.
Founded in 2019, Numeros Motors has built a strong portfolio of over 300 intellectual property rights, with 113 already granted. Its filings span across mobility and utility platforms, including trademarks, copyrights, and design patents.
The company recently introduced its flagship electric two-wheeler platform, Diplos, available in three variants—Diplos Max, Diplos Pro, and Diplos I-Pro. The vehicles have undergone an extensive pilot test, reportedly covering more than 13.9 million kilometers across India.
Speaking on the recognition, Shreyas Shibulal, Founder and CEO of Numeros Motors, said the award highlights the company’s efforts toward developing electric mobility solutions suited for Indian conditions. He noted the role of intellectual property in advancing technology and thanked the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, DPIIT, and CGPDTM for encouraging innovation among startups.
The National Intellectual Property Awards are held annually to promote IP awareness and recognize excellence in IP creation and management across various sectors.
Numeros Motors operates from a 16-acre facility in Narasapura, on the outskirts of Bangalore. The manufacturing unit spans 20,000 sq. ft. and has an annual production capacity exceeding 70,000 units. The company employs over 250 people and maintains in-house capabilities for design, development, and product validation. It currently operates in 14 cities through a growing network of distributors and sub-dealers, targeting both tier-1 and tier-2 markets.
