Comemso’s Easy Chester Gen. 2 EV charging station test device is now VDE-compliant and supports power levels up to 60 kW

Germany-based test and measurement specialist comemso electronics has released a new version of its Easy-Chester EVSE testing device.

The Easy Chester is a mobile functional test device for AC and DC charging stations that fully simulates the communication of an EV—with no need for a real vehicle. The Easy Chester intelligently detects the connected plug type and connected DC loads. It supports all relevant communication protocols: DIN 70121, ISO 15118, IEC 61851-1 for CCS and NACS charging standards; as well as CHAdeMO up to version 2.0.

Typical application scenarios include initial commissioning, recurring tests for quality assurance, maintenance, troubleshooting, technical support and repairs.

The new Easy Chester Gen. 2 comes in three variants: Basic, Extended and Pro. A modular hardware architecture with interchangeable electronic cassettes enables flexible adaptation to a wide range of requirements. Individual functions can be specifically expanded by software upgrades.

New features of the Easy Chester Gen. 2 include:

  • A revised, more intuitive user interface;
  • New, improved PDF reports;
  • Support for testing 800 V charging systems;
  • DC load simulation up to 60 kW (Pro version);
  • Additional VDE-compliant tests with the optional comISO module (available from Q4/2025).
