The startup Oxbotica, a spin-off of Oxford University Great Britain, wants to carry out a test in which the data of the autonomous vehicles are forwarded to other places. Specifically, the vehicle data should both the insuranceand the authorities.
The test includes three automated Ford fusion Models with which also the manufacturer ford researching autonomous driving. The test takes place near the Oxford University where you also use the software of the company Silenium.
The data of the vehicles are via mobile forwarded. For the test one has among other things the insurance enterprise XL Catlin selected, with a few terabytes of data per day. But not all data is forwarded.
This is how Oxbotica filters out which data is transmitted. Transferred data includes location, route difficulty and other factors. The software determines this from the data risk the way. Depending on the influence on the driving behavior of the vehicles should be taken, which could express, for example, a ban on certain driving maneuvers.
