Long-Lewis Auto selects ADS-TEC Energy’s ChargeBox to provide EV charging at Ford dealerships

Alabama-based automotive retailer Long-Lewis Auto Group has deployed the battery-buffered DC fast charging platform ChargeBox from ADS-TEC Energy, a supplier of battery-based energy storage and fast-charging systems, at multiple Ford dealerships.

The locations include Long-Lewis Ford of Hoover, Long-Lewis Ford of the River Region and Long-Lewis Ford of the Shoals in Alabama. The chargers are available for public use, serving drivers that were previously underserved by EV infrastructure.

The ChargeBox platform’s battery-buffered technology enables ultra-fast charging of up to 320 kW on power-limited grids. Unlike conventional DC chargers, it does not require extensive construction or upgrades to high-power electrical infrastructure, enabling the Long-Lewis Auto Group to quickly deploy ultra-fast EV chargers.

“As EV adoption in our state continues to rise, the right charging technology must be installed to support ultra-fast charging requirements. Our customers cannot wait hours to charge their vehicles and as some of our dealerships are in more rural locations, we cannot afford any grid strain,” said Ryan Ware, General Manager at Long-Lewis Ford of the River Region.
