Rokt Acquires Canal

Rokt, a NYC-based company which specializes in ecommerce, acquired Canal, a San Francisco, CA-based company providing AI and services to scale clients 3P product revenue.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition enables Rokt’s ecommerce partners to expand their product range by tapping into a curated network of third-party inventory from direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.

Cofounded in 2020 by Bennett Carroccio, Clay Schubiner and Liam Kinney, Canal combines AI and services to scale 3P product revenue empowering brands to sell anything, anywhere. Retailers and brands use Canal to drive revenue, increase customer loyalty, and strategically expand their product offerings on their own terms.

Led by CEO Bruce Buchanan, Rokt specializes in ecommerce, generating real-time relevance in the transaction moment. Its AI Brain and Ecommerce Network empowers transactions connecting hundreds of millions of customers, and is used to do this by companies including Live Nation, Macy’s, AMC Theatres, PayPal, Uber, Hulu, Staples, Albertsons and HelloFresh.

The company has offices across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
