Bajaj Auto Limited recorded total vehicle sales of 366,000 units in July 2025, representing a 3% increase compared to 354,169 units sold in the same month last year. The company’s performance was driven by export growth, which compensated for declining domestic sales across both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles.
Domestic Sales Face Headwinds
The automaker’s domestic sales fell 13% to 183,143 units in July 2025 from 210,997 units in July 2024. This decline was primarily attributed to the two-wheeler segment, where domestic sales dropped 18% to 139,279 units compared to 168,847 units in the previous year. Commercial vehicle domestic sales showed resilience with a 4% increase to 43,864 units from 42,150 units.
Export Markets Drive Growth
Export performance provided a counterbalance to domestic challenges, growing 28% to 182,857 units in July 2025 from 143,172 units in July 2024. Two-wheeler exports surged 22% to 156,968 units, while commercial vehicle exports demonstrated strong growth of 79% to 25,889 units from 14,478 units in the previous year.
Year-to-Date Performance Shows Similar Trends
For the April-July 2025 period, Bajaj Auto maintained modest growth with total sales reaching 1,477,237 units, up 1% from 1,456,225 units in the corresponding period of 2024. Year-to-date domestic sales declined 9% to 817,951 units, while exports grew 19% to 659,286 units.
Two-Wheeler Business Reflects Mixed Performance
The company’s two-wheeler business, which forms the bulk of its operations, showed contrasting trends between domestic and export markets. While domestic two-wheeler sales fell 11% in the four-month period to 668,623 units, exports increased 16% to 576,415 units. Commercial vehicle exports continued their strong trajectory with 44% growth year-to-date.
